Yes, I am already thinking holiday for you all! I just took a trip to Atlanta market to prepare for the 2018 holiday season, and let me tell you, it’s going to be a beautiful year of new design! I have pulled together the TOP 5 trends you will see this holiday season, I hope you enjoy!

1. Bubblegum Ornaments!!!

Makes me happy just looking at them! They are hand blown glass ornaments which come in many variations of texture and color which make them super versatile. They can be fun and whimsical or they can formal and elegant depending on how you dress them up. I can’t wait to show you what I am doing with them with my tree this year!

2. Oversized objects

Traditionally oversized objects have been used for outdoor spaces. Today, we are seeing more and more of a mixed use of oversized objects. Interior and exterior. What I love about oversized objects is one, they instantly tell a story and two they make decorting easy as you wont need to much around them to have a completed design area!

3. Less is more when it comes to Ribbon

I love ribbon let me tell you but today less is more. With the advancement of artificial trees we are seeing a change in minimal ribbon used. So how much should you use? Try using your ribbon as a final touch to your tree this year. You will most likely use less. If you still want to make that “pop” look, consider using a contrasting color ribbon. Final option for you ribbon lovers- select a sheer ribbon so the tree is exposed behind. Win=Win!

4. I’ll have a Blue Christmas!!!

Blue hues are hot right now. From a deep royal blue to lighter blue you will be seeing more and more trees decorated in Blue!

5. Micro Tree Lights!

I can’t even describe how cool these are! These are new to the market, only a few companies have started producing them, but let me tell you they are fabulous. They just GLOW with pre-lit LED micro lights. The first time I laid my eyes on these trees reminded me of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, it just sparkles!

BONUS

Fall is becoming more colorful than just orange.
We are seeing neutral colors with pops of accents of deep burgundy’s, eggplant and blues. The nice thing about having your pumpkins neutral is you can continue them into other seasons. I love how eleven gables arranged her pumpkins surrounding her beautiful blue and white ginger jars! Having a more neutral solid base makes pumpkins more multi seasonal. Check out this stunning thanksgiving table with rich hues fit for a king!

I hope you enjoyed these top 5 trends! Mark your calendars for this September as I plan to offer several hand picked items this season that will be located under “shop”. If you have any questions please feel free to email me- whitney@whitneyelainedesigns.com

Can’t wait to celebrate with you!
