This is one of my favorite decorated rooms in our home.
I wanted to provide a traditional Christmas design for you all to see

Welcome to our dining room!

I love this color combination this year- golds, champagnes, and muted reds.

Let’s talk about this tree first.

With over 8,000 lights, this 7.5 ft beauty stands out by itself, so I didn’t want to crowd it with a bunch of ornaments and ribbon.

When working with a traditional green tree, throw in a flocked pick to make the ornaments stand out. You can also use snow filler. Make sure to get the blanket vs. the sheet. I have also heard people using dusters to fill the tree in, I tried this and did not give me the same volume the blanket did.

For this tree I used oversized ornaments – several 8″ and some 6″ with different textures and same color but different varieties like – shiny, glitter, matte etc…

For the tabletop

I wanted to use these beautiful lanterns and accessories. I love these pre-lit trees and the cranberry votives. I also like to decorate my China cabinet to fit the theme of the room, so I used all my Christmas plates and added my sentimental Santas.

These white/champagne finials completed the look.

For each place setting, I really mixed it up! I used silver charger plates, polka dot blue and white dinner plates, red salad plates, and my vintage salad bowls. I completed the mix match look with my monogrammed napkins to pull everything together. Place setting do not have to be all matchy matchy – be creative and have fun- that’s what festival is all about right?!

Well friends, that’s it! I hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post of the study! To get a similar look, see below links!

Merry Christmas!

Untill next time,
Whitney Elaine
