Inside My Fall Home: Blue, Green, Burgundy and Artisan Pumpkins

Hot Skwash provided the artisan pumpkins featured in this fall home tour.

For fall 2026, I wanted my home to feel layered, welcoming, and full of seasonal warmth. I began with the colors already in my rooms: the blues in the artwork and textiles, the greens in the furnishings and rugs, and the warm finishes that connect the spaces. Blue and green became the foundation for my fall decor, with burgundy adding a rich pop of color.

I worked with Hot Skwash for the artisan pumpkins you'll see throughout this tour. Their handmade silk velvet pumpkins come in multiple colors and sizes, and each is finished with a real harvested pumpkin stem. I love how the soft fabric and the individual curves of those natural stems bring texture and character to every arrangement.

My approach to luxury fall decorating is to draw a palette from the home itself, then bring in seasonal texture, natural shapes, and a few deeper accents. That connection helps a decorated room feel personal and considered.

Come inside for a tour of my foyer, living room and mantel, breakfast area, dining room, and kitchen. Each space has its own expression of fall, from soft blue and green velvet pumpkins to the nostalgic autumn colors that make my kitchen feel warm and cozy. The close-up details are a favorite part of this tour: the ribbons, layered plates, magnolia garland, and small arrangements that bring each room together.

How to choose fall decor colors from your existing interiors

Before choosing seasonal decorations, look closely at your artwork, upholstered furniture, and rugs. A painting might contain a beautiful muted blue. A patterned rug might bring together sage, cream, and gold. Your favorite chair may offer the green that anchors the entire room.

In my home, repeating blue and green creates a visual connection between the everyday interiors and the seasonal layers. The shades vary from pale blue and soft blue-green to deeper navy. That variation gives the arrangements depth while keeping the rooms connected.

Burgundy is my accent this season. Against the softer blues and greens, it adds richness and draws the eye to selected details, especially the ribbon on the mantel and the garland around the dining room mirror. I use it in smaller amounts so those details have presence.

To build a fall color palette for your own home:

Choose a starting color from a substantial piece, such as a rug, sofa, or artwork.
Select a supporting color already visible elsewhere in the room.
Introduce a deeper accent, such as burgundy, rust, or bronze, in a few deliberate places.
Repeat the palette through different textures and sizes, then view the arrangement from across the room.

The relationships between those choices matter. A blue pumpkin beside a blue-green chair or a ribbon that echoes a painting gives the eye a reason to move naturally through the space.

Foyer table: a colorful welcome to fall

My foyer table introduces the seasonal palette as soon as you come inside. Beneath the gold sunburst mirror, the pale blue lamp, floral ceramic vase, and warm wood console give me a beautiful foundation for a few carefully placed pumpkins.

The styling continues below the console, where an ivory pumpkin with long blue and green ribbon sits on a patterned ceramic garden stool. Bringing a detail into that lower layer makes the whole foyer vignette feel complete. An entry table offers a lovely place to repeat your home's colors at a smaller scale and set the mood for the rooms ahead.

Living room fall decor: a mantel inspired by the artwork

The artwork above my living room mantel was an important starting point. Its soft blue and green tones gave me a palette for the pumpkins and greenery, while the light fireplace surround provided a backdrop for the fuller arrangement.

I grouped pumpkins in several sizes, with a larger blue pumpkin creating the focal point. Smaller blue-green and golden pumpkins add variation around it. Their real stems introduce wonderful movement, with each curve adding character to the composition.

Below the pumpkins, layered greenery, pale berries, and softly colored foliage spill over the edge of the mantel. The trailing stems give the display a sense of movement, while the burgundy ribbon adds a concentrated touch of deeper color. Warm points of light and amber-toned candleholders bring a glow to the cooler palette.

For an elegant fall mantel, consider the scale of the entire fireplace wall. A substantial arrangement can work beautifully beneath a large piece of art while leaving the artwork visible. Grouping smaller decorations around one focal piece helps the display hold together from across the living room.

The blue upholstery, patterned rug, and soft textiles carry the palette into the rest of the room. A cozy throw and a smaller seasonal arrangement on the coffee table make the space feel ready for an autumn evening.

On the coffee table, deeper burgundy and pink-toned foliage fills a ribbed metallic vase. A small ivory pumpkin, favorite books, and a glowing amber candle complete the arrangement. I love the mix of soft petals, velvet, reflective finishes, and warm light; each detail adds something different to this little gathering place.

Between the bamboo chairs, the round wood side table has its own fall vignette. The green chair cushions and navy trim on the lampshade help connect the grouping to the furniture around it. Seasonal styling feels especially personal when it picks up those smaller details already in a room.

Breakfast area: green furnishings and blue accents

In the breakfast area, the green patterned chairs make the color direction especially clear. I echoed that green with hydrangeas and paired them with a blue-and-white vase and velvet pumpkins. Blue and green ribbon brings those colors into the smaller details.

The arrangement is concentrated at the center of the round wooden table. Keeping the seasonal grouping compact allows the shape and finish of the table to remain part of the design.

Above the table, greenery and flowing blue ribbon on the chandelier extend the palette upward. That added layer connects the centerpiece to the room around it and gives the breakfast area its own seasonal character.

Up close, the small blue-gray pumpkin, leafy gold tray, and blue-and-white vase each contribute a different texture. The larger navy pumpkin wears blue and green ribbon, repeating the colors of the chairs and artwork. These little connections make a compact arrangement feel thoughtfully layered.

On the nearby side table, an ivory velvet pumpkin sits beside hydrangeas in a warm metallic vase. A long blue ribbon, a gold branch sculpture, and a stack of books give the grouping height and personality. I like carrying a few details beyond the breakfast table so the whole room participates in the season.

Dining room: a layered fall tablescape for gathering

My dining room takes the blue palette into a more detailed fall tablescape. A patterned blue-gray runner creates the foundation for velvet pumpkins in pale blue, navy, and gold. Cream-colored roses and greenery soften the arrangement, while glass candleholders add light and height.

Clear risers lift selected pumpkins so their shapes and stems can be appreciated. Changing the elevation helps each piece remain visible within the fuller centerpiece. I also vary the pumpkin sizes to create a rhythm along the table.

The closer views reveal the details that give this tablescape its character: a scattering of sparkling embellishments on pale blue pumpkins, the folds of navy and gold velvet, and cream roses tucked between curving stems. At each place setting, a miniature pumpkin adds a seasonal detail to the colorful plates and scalloped white layers beneath them. The tiny pumpkins repeat the centerpiece palette at a more intimate scale, giving every guest a little piece of the overall design.

The mirror and buffet table carry the decorating beyond the dining table. Around the turquoise-and-gold mirror, a magnolia garland brings together glossy green leaves, white blooms, warm golden foliage, and smaller burgundy accents. When styling a fall dining table, think about how the arrangement will work during a meal. Keep space for glasses and serving pieces, and adjust any centerpiece elements that interrupt conversation once everyone is seated.

Kitchen fall decor: warm colors and a nostalgic mood

My kitchen celebrates the familiar warmth of autumn. Orange, golden yellow, rust, and brown foliage bring a nostalgic feeling to the white cabinetry and range hood. A wreath, leafy garlands, small pumpkins, and cheerful scarecrow accents make the room feel festive and cozy.

I love allowing a room to express a different mood within the same home. Here, the traditional autumn colors bring warmth to the kitchen's lighter finishes. Repeated materials and small color connections help the transition feel natural.

For a fall kitchen, choose a few areas where decorations can have impact while leaving the working surfaces useful. A countertop vignette or an island centerpiece offers an easy place to begin.
